On Wednesday it was announced that a new sporting awards show will be held in the Philippines.
The Asian Industry Sports Awards will take place at the New World Hotel Makati on September 25.
The show aims to recognize “business leaders, organizations, facilities and campaigns at the forefront of the sporting industry that have made a contribution to the growth and development of sports across the Asian region.”
At the launch was MMC Sportz head Eric Gottscahlk and New World hotel’s general manager Farid Schoucair.
There will be ten categories at stake in the awards show, namely best Sport or Recreation Facility of the year, Best Sports Retail Experience, Best Live Experience at a Sports Event, Best Sports Participation/Amateur Event, Best Sports CSR Initiative, Best Sports Marketing Campaign, Best Use of Social Media in Sport, Best Sports Agency or Organisation, Best Sports Youth Programme, and Best Sports Digital Platform.
The submissions need to have been executed in one or more of the following nations: Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Laos, Brunei, or Myanmar from January 1 of last year until May 30th of this year. The dealine for submissions is June 1, 2015.
Gottschalk said during the press conference that several well-known figures in the sports world would be in attendance.
MMC Sportz is an advertising and communications agency based in Dubai that recently brought the International Premeier Tennis League to the country last December.
