There will be a big hometown flavor in the Asian Sport Industry Awards (SPIA) on October 2 in the New World Hotel.
A shortlist of 168 entries from ten nations will try to win awards in several different categories in an event spearheaded by MMC Sportz and Sport360. MMC Sportz, led by Eric Gottschalk, was the force behind the International Premier Tennis League that came to the Philippines last year. Sport 360 is the leading sports news and content provider in the Middle East.
A panel of 16 judges will help decide on who will win the trophies. The official website is asiaawards.com.
The black-tie awards event will be aired by Fox Sports. Here is a list of some of the notable Filipino entries.
